Question about thawing out chicken?

Ok so I plan on making chicken for dinner and we have chicken . Well this morning to thaw them out I put them in the fridge thinking it would thaw out good, but it seems like its not really thawing that much so do you know if it would be ok to leave it out of the fridge for a hour or so to thaw out?
