How should you respond to a woman when she asks "when are you free" for the date you asked her on...?

I know it sounds pretty straightforward, but I'm available the entire weekend. Should I respond and say "How about Friday or Saturday night" or just pick a day? Is a guy supposed to take charge and make the decisions?
